Leadership Team

We have extensive backgrounds in business process outsourcing (BPO) and technology, focusing on Credit, Collections, Customer Deduction Management, and Accounts Receivable functions. Whether providing Managed Credit-to-Cash Services, or Best-in-Class Order-to-Cash Cloud Technology, Smyyth’s executives work cross-functionally to serve our clients throughout the entire revenue cycle.

John Metzger – Chairman, Smyyth Family of Companies

John Metzger is Chairman of the Smyyth Family of Companies which includes Smyyth-Creditek, Credit2B, and Leib Solutions. Previously, he was CEO and Founder of Creditek Corp., which he led to the leadership position in the accounts receivable management BPO industry until its its sale in 2002 (the “Creditek” trademark was re-acquired by Smyyth in 2013). He has directed Smyyth to a technology and thought-leadership position in the revenue cycle management field, including best-in-class and highly advanced enterprise “cloud” solutions such as Credit2B and Carixa. Early in his career he was a management consultant, and Executive Vice President of worldwide operations in the consumer goods industry. He is a graduate of Rutgers University.

Shyarsh Desai – Chief Executive Officer, is Smyyth’s revolutionary industry-centric credit ratings platform. Shyarsh has 20 years of experience in corporate strategy and business development. Before joining Smyyth, Shyarsh was Corporate Development Officer at Global Compliance, the leader in the ethics and compliance industry, prior to which he served as Leader, Corporate Strategy and Business Development for Dun and Bradstreet. Prior to D&B, Shyarsh played a significant role in sourcing and executing transactions in the Corporate Development group at IBM. Shyarsh received undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Bombay and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Kristen Metzger – Chief Executive Officer, Order-to-Cash Outsourcing and SaaS Technology Group

Smyyth’s enterprise solutions include Carixa, the best-in-class SaaS cloud platform for managing order-to-cash, and expert consulting and outsourcing for any function in the receivables life cycle. Prior to joining Smyyth in 2002, Kristen served as Sr. Vice President Operations for Creditek, a leading outsourcing firm, and previously for Accenture Strategy and Business Architecture. Kristen is nationally known for her expertise in order-to-cash, revenue dilution, and operations optimization. She has been awarded a Certified Six Sigma Supplier Black Belt, and has managed large outsourcing operations for Fortune 500 clients, plus consulting experience in consumer goods and health sciences. Kristen received a BA Economics from The University of Vermont and has an MBA in Strategy and Finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Frank Boni – Vice President – Managed Services and Technology Operations

Frank is Vice President – Managed Services and Technology Operations, responsible for Carixa Credit-to-Cash SaaS client operations, and outsource and collection operations. Prior to joining Smyyth, Frank had more than 20 years of experience in commercial receivables management, credit and collections, including serving as Director of Operations and Sales Support for NCO Financial Systems, Inc. Earlier in his career he served in management capacities with Dun & Bradstreet RMS, and Payco GAC Corp. Frank has a B.S. in Business Administration from Hofstra University.

Joseph D’Apolito, Chief Financial Officer

Joe is responsible for finance, corporate planning and shared service functions for the Smyyth companies. He has twenty-years executive experience in finance, accounting and administration with top health insurance companies, and the construction industry. Earlier in his career, he was CFO of Empire Roofing, and CFO and V.P. Underwriting for PHHC, acquired by Emblem where he served as Director and Leadership of Health Care Reform Team. At Anthem Health Insurance, he was CFO of a $5 billion unit, responsible for finance and integrating financial activities across multiple locations. Joe is a Graduate of Lehigh University with a degree in Finance and Accounting.

Karen McCann – Vice President, Operations and Product

Karen has 20 years of experience in operations, data management, administration, and customer service, including serving as Director, Client Services with Creditek, a leading outsourcing company, and as a customer services executive in the telecom industry. In addition to managing Smyyth’s operations and client services, Karen is the product manager for Carixa, the company’s remarkable cloud order-to-cash technology.

Susan Burns – Manager, Client Services

Susan is responsible for managing client engagement from implementation to ongoing data operations and user experience. She was previously Sr. Business Analyst with Pilat HR, a SaaS provider of human capital solutions for Fortune 100 clients, and earlier was finance and accounting system administrator for AIG. She is a skilled and certified project management professional.

Barry Priestley – Controller

Prior to joining Smyyth in 2009, Barry was a founding partner and CFO for Trades Publishing Inc., an Internet media and publishing company for the construction industry, where he managed all facets of finance, IT and administration. Prior to that, he served as Senior Accountant at Merrill Lynch. Barry holds a BA in Accounting and Information Systems from Pace University. Barry is responsible for shared services accounting functions for the Smyyth companies.


Larissa Trofimov

Larissa is Enterprise Architect with Johnson & Johnson, and previously served as Chief Technlogy Officer for the Smyyth family of companies. Earlier in her career, she was in analytical and web application development with Dun & Bradstreet, and was as a technology consultant for multinationals in Europe. She holds an M.S. degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

David Palmieri

Mr. Palmieri is a leader in the digital information services industry, and is Senior Vice President at Pearson, with P&L responsibility for Pearson’s K-12 products business in the US, serving over 50 million students in more than 100,000 schools nationwide. Earlier, he served as Chief Executive Officer of USLegal, Inc., Vice President & Managing Director at LexisNexis and General Manager of Martindale-Hubbell, and was Senior Vice President of Global Risk Management Solutions at Dun & Bradstreet. Mr. Palmieri holds a BA from Franklin & Marshall College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Kim Zablocky

Associated with Smyyth since 2002, Kim is Chairman of the Retail Value Chain Federation (, the leading advocate for retailer-supplier trading partner synchronization that champions initiatives to increase industry-wide productivity, profitability and growth. Kim is well known for his expertise in customer financial services, and serves as an advisor in matters concerning the retail industry. Kim holds a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York.
