Bonnie Gerrity
Managing Director
Prior to joining Bernard Sands and the Smyth family of companies, Bonnie was officer and director of commercial credit analysis for a major regional bank, where she was responsible for a department of twenty analysts, with earlier service as lending Compliance Officer, Commercial Loan Workout officer, Commercial Loan Officer, and Credit Analyst. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware.

Robert F. Carbonell
Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer
Bob joined Bernard Sands in 1998 and is Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, and is a well-known expert in retail industry credit. Prior to his current role, Bob held positions with Dun & Bradstreet including Director of Credit-Credit Clearing House, Director-Credit Interchange and Senior Industry Consultant-National Credit Office. In addition to his core responsibilities, Bob also manages Bernard Sands retail channel interchange groups.

Jaime Palanca
Senior Industry Analyst
Jaime is a seasoned expert in credit analysis and credit management, specializing in consumer cyclicals, and retail. He draws from over 25 years of experience across diverse industries including banking, pharmaceutical, and consumer packaged goods manufacturers. Jaime’s most recent position prior to joining Bernard Sands was as the Director of the Credit Risk Management Group at Playtex Products. Jaime has a dual degree in Business Economics and Finance from De La Salle University and an MBA in Finance from Fordham University.

Irene Ripa
Industry Analyst
Irene has twenty-five years experience as a trade credit executive in factoring and manufacturing, as a specialist in the consumer goods and retail industry. Prior to joining Sands, Irene held senior level positions primarily with HSBC Business Credit, where she was an Assistant Vice President.

Bill has thirty-seven years of experience in trade credit management. With years of experience as Director of Credit for Jones Apparel and as Asst Vice President at Century Business Credit/Wells Fargo, Bill is well-known in the credit community. He received his B.S in Business Management from University of Baltimore.
